Early Years Playground
at St Leos and Southmead Catholic Primary School
This is a very important voluntary undertaking to improve the Reception Class playground facilities of St Leos and Southmead Primary School. The aim was to produce large artworks for the fencing around the edges of the playground. To bring colour and fun to the underdeveloped space.
We were extremely pleased to have gained the support of two major companies who supplied materials and equipment for this project. The Bell Group who are one of the largest UK contract painters and decorators, and Travis Perkins the well known timber and builders merchant. Also a local company called Klassik Builders, brought their team to build a new wooden stage and replace the boards.
Firstly we started working closely with the teachers to produce a range of ideas to be painted with various designs and interactive elements that link directly with the children's curriculum.

Early stage where the damaged boards are marked for replacement with new wood from Travis Perkins, and other boards prepared with white undercoat paint.

The Hungry Caterpillar bursts into colour from behind the trees.
